Routex Company History

Des Fiske and Geoff Davis founded Routex in 1980 on the basis of a strong Italian service to and from Milan. In the early 1980's they diversified into the American and Far Eastern markets, providing their clients with highly individualized Import operations, customs clearance and UK & European distribution services.

In 1983 the Directors employed Gerry Angel (later Sharpe) who along with them would form the backbone of Routex for over two decades. ROUTEX continued to grow and in 2003 Geoff Davis retired, leaving Des Fiske as sole Managing Director.

Calibre Acquires Routex

In April 2006, Calibre Forwarding acquired Routex whose diverse range of services complement Calibre’s own UK and European Distribution facilities. Now over a quarter of a century later after starting in a small office in Greenwich in South East London, ROUTEX looks forward to a bright future with their parent company CALIBRE FORWARDING in the companies’  new headquarters in Dartford.
